Women's Space

Womenspace is a place for women to come together in an inclusive community built on diversity, kindness and respect.

We are a solely independent women’s organisation with no affiliation to an external body.

Ludmila Doneman

I bring experience as a refugee from communist Czechoslovakia 50 years ago; later as a mother of a child with disability; originally as an actor, later as a community cultural developer, and festivals and events director. My current practice is focused on the importance of stories, especially stories of women who are transitioning in their lives – when the role of mothers, wives, employees is changing, when these women are finding new meaning. Having the opportunity to belong to the Women Space team and contribute to developing this community is important for my own transition. I am grateful for being a part of creating the Women Space stories.

Lyn Hickey

Lyn is a long time resident of Brisbane and has recently left work and is now transitioning into a new way of life. She fantasises about time in the garden and a neat clean house, but finds lunches and time spent with her woman friends much more interesting. Lyn brings a great sense of humour and fun to our board!

After 40 odd years in various organisations as a Projects officer and finance officer, she brings her well rounded organisational skills to the Womenspace management team.

Ann Ingamells

After the years of teaching in the School of Human Services and Social Work at Griffith University, Dr Ingamells brings to our management committee her skills in research and good governance. Ann is a cyclist, neighbour, writer, grandma, happy camper, good governance apostle. She loves her yoga and swimming mornings, good food, coffee and a glass of red wine.

Kylie Heenan

Kylie is a family counsellor – working with couples and individuals – who practices and resides in Redcliffe. However she also has strong connections to the 4017 region having worked amongst this community for over six years. Kylie continues this connection in her role as a management committee member for Womenspace. Kylie enjoys tending her vegetable gardens, practising yoga, walking by the beach, playing with two gorgeous grandchildren and cuddling three adorable cats!

Kaydee Dickson

Kaydee is passionate about helping women to find their joy and become self-empowered through her therapeutic work as a Zenthai Shiatsu therapist, a Transpersonal Art Therapist, yoga teacher and her self-help for carers sessions. Kaydee did her art therapy placement in 2017 with Womenspace and also gave student Zenthai treatments in 2015, so she feels a strong connection to Womenspace. Her hobbies are exploring the country with her partner on their bike, being by the water, yoga, growing her own food and making art.

We welcome all women of any age, all cultures, all skills and diverse backgrounds.

Our value is in connecting with community and sharing activities and events that inspire and enlighten our lives.
